Cindy McCormick - BS, LMT, Nationally Certified (NCTMB), Owner

Cindy has 23 years of massage and bodywork experience. She is certified in Orthopedic Massage for Pain Management (James Waslaski), Thai yoga massage (Lotus-palm), Active Release Technique (ART)/Upper and Lower  Body and Active Isolated Stretching (AIS). Cindy also offers deep tissue, prenatal, and reflexology massage and has advanced training in Kinesiotaping and Myofascial Release (John Barnes).  

She considers it a privilege to be able to help weekend warriors and professional athletes work toward their performance goals by employing good assessment skills, proven bodywork techniques for improved movement and pain reduction, and by educating her clients on how to stay balanced between visits. Cindy travelled to the Detroit and Tampa Bay Pittsburgh Steeler superbowls to work with her clients before the game, and hopes to get to another one soon! 


 
 
Rebecca Householder - LMT

Becky has worked at Centre Ave Massage & Spa since our opening.  She feels lucky to be working with a wonderful group of like-minded therapists who are equally devoted to our clients wellness.  Her 18 years of dance training taught her how the body works, and her continuous training in massage teaches her how to help the body work more efficiently.  Becky is very excited to now be offering Thai Yoga Massage!

Renee M. Rowe - MSW, MT
 
Renee is a former social worker and birth doula. For years, she saw the inter-relationship between mental health and the physical body. While working with women in childbirth, Renee became interested in massage and the power of physical and emotional comfort that touch offered. She completed her training at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy and the Massage Therapy Institute of Western Pennsylvania.  Her specialities include Deep Tissue Massage, Pregnancy Massage, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Now, through massage, Renee is able to work with clients in a new way.
 
 

Jay Breen - LMT, CMT

Jay is a Pennsylvania licensed massage therapist and is Nationally certified in massage. He is a graduate of the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy with over 16 years of massage experience. He has furthered his education by receiving advanced certification in Orthopedic Massage (James Walaski) and Myoskeletal Alignment Technique (Erik Dalton). He has also studied with Aaron Mattes, learning Active Isolated Stretching (AIS).

Jay's passion is to help his clients restore balance to their bodies by lessening or resolving pain and to improve their range of motion. Bodywork is performed as a team, working together for best results. Clients are then given the tools to reeducate their body for lasting results (stretching and strengthening exercises) to maintain a pain-free lifestyle.

 

Valerie Benton - MT

Valerie is a graduate of the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy.  Her training in many different modalities there included Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy and Reflexology.  Recently, she has completed a 24 hour course in Active Isolated Stretching to round out her skills as a therapist and to satisfy her rive for continuing education in her field.

Valerie is also a licensed cosmetologist who graduated from the Bedford County Technical Center with 1250 hours.  She is well versed and has much experience in providing facials, body waxing, lash tinting, and 3-D eyelash extensions.

Valerie brings much experience with her as she has been continually employed in hair salons and spas for the last twelve years.  She is always up-beat with a true desire to help people with their needs and truly loves the work she does!

 
 

Hsiung Leu - LMT

A recent graduate of Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy, Hsiung formerly worked in the field of IT for 12 years before his awakening.  His passion for living a values-based life propelled him toward a career in massage therapy.  Hsiung's desire to provide health and wellness to his clients is witnessed through his deep connection to humanity, nature and the environment.  Hsiung brings to his massage the meditative presence and intuition of the Chinese internal martial arts (Tai Chi, Tingyi and Ba Qua) in which he has ten years experience learning and teaching.

 Beth Ratas - MT

Beth is originally from Wisconsin.  At an early age, she has been involved in the world of theater and dance.  She received her BA in Theater Arts from Point Park University in 2005.    She was a gymnast and coach for many years.  Beth has always had a fascination with the human body and that is what brought her to the wonderful world of massage therapy.  She completed training at Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy in 2011.  She loves to discover the endless possibilities, from limitations to movements that the human body may hold...through finding our breath we can allow the constant creation of space.

 
 

Catherine Dawgert - MT

Catherine has been working at the spa since October of 2008. She went to the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy, She then worked in a variety of settings including chiropractic and hospice. Recently, Catherine has been expanding her list of modalities (Swedish, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue and Reflexology) to now include Pregnancy massage. Her magical abilities will put even the most stressed clients at ease.
