To some yoga students, it’s a dream workout. They pose, stretch and contort their bodies on our yoga wall. Our yoga wall takes you further into the stretches that you can’t get on the floor. Yoga students also find they can get into positions on the wall they wouldn’t even “try” on the floor, like the “inversion,” also known as the headstand. This position takes a lot of strength and upper body strength and you need to make sure you don’t have any injuries to your neck. Come visit our highly trained yoga teachers at Centre Ave. Massage & Spa to get the whole effect of yoga without having any worries about pressure to your neck, back and spine.

Joseph Pilates called his method Contrology, which refers to the way the method encourages the use of the mind to control the muscles. The program focuses on the core postural muscles that help keep the body balanced and are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and strengthen the deep torso muscles, which are important to help alleviate and prevent back pain.
